How Custom Pet Portraits Work
Custom pet portraits are often sold vaguely. Here is exactly what happens between your upload and your delivery, including where a person is involved and where a machine is.
1. You upload one photo
One clear, eye-level photo is enough. You choose a portrait style — soft gouache, line study or classic oil — and add your pet's name if you'd like it printed.
2. An artist finishes the portrait
Backgrounds, leashes and distractions are removed, and the portrait is finished by hand so fur, eyes and expression look like your pet rather than a filter of your pet.
3. You approve a digital proof
For portraits, framed artwork and canvases we email a proof. Nothing prints until you reply. You can request adjustments — a collar removed, an eye colour corrected, the name reset.
4. We print and finish the piece
Your approved artwork is printed on the product you chose, then inspected before it ships. Production times are listed on every product page.
5. The portrait stays yours
We keep your approved artwork on file, so later you can put the same portrait on a mug, a blanket or a sweatshirt without starting over. That's the whole idea behind EverPaw: one photo, a growing collection.

- Typically 5–7 business days to produce after your proof is approved, plus shipping. Proofs are usually emailed within 2–3 business days of ordering.
